Welcome.
If you're only looking around I hope you find this an
entertaining and informative browse.
If you're seriously looking for an acting class,
here are a few things you might want to bear in mind:
The only promise the teacher should make
is to try to improve your acting.
(Avoid "teachers" who promise to get you an agent or work).
The teacher should be a person who has been/is in the
industry and knows what he or she is talking about.
The teacher should critique your work honestly,
neither being too critical or "stroking" your ego.
You should get a feeling that the teacher genuinely
cares about his class.
Classes should be no larger than about 16 people.
The people in your class should be either at
your level or better than you.
The students too should care. If someone makes an
appointment to rehearse with you, both actors
should be there, on time, ready to work.
You should either be permitted to audit the class
(at no charge) or the refund policy should be clearly stated.
If you are going to New York, your main class should be in
stage training; if you're going to Hollywood at
least one of your classes should be on-camera.
One final thing. In all my years of teaching, both in the USA
and in Europe I have learned that it doesn't matter
where you come from.
Whether you hail from Cleveland, Ohio, or
Cologne, Germany, all actors share the same goal:
to be good at what they do.
Hope this helps to reach your goal.
Cordially, MK Lewis
